Subaru Loves to Care
Subaru Loves to Care brings comfort and hope to individuals facing cancer. Each year, Subaru and its local partner, Saint Luke’s East Hospital, deliver blankets and arts-and-crafts kits to patients in treatment, helping them feel cared for and reminding them they are not alone. Nationwide, Subaru has reached thousands of patients through its partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Our Local Impact
At Lee’s Summit Subaru, we joined Saint Luke’s East Hospital and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the 2025 Subaru Loves to Care initiative, delivering blankets and patient care kits to local cancer patients. Each year, our team personally hand-delivers care packages and connects with patients. Our General Sales Manager, McCall Witt—whose passion for this cause was inspired by her aunt’s battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma—led the 2020 LLS Man & Woman of the Year campaign, raising $83,275 toward the Kansas City total of $614,767. Her dedication exemplifies the heart of Subaru Loves to Care: sharing kindness, supporting our community, and making a real difference.
Subaru Loves the Earth
Subaru Loves the Earth focuses on protecting the environment through waste reduction, recycling, wildlife preservation, and environmental education. Subaru encourages sustainable practices locally and nationally—its manufacturing plants operate with zero waste to landfill, and programs like “Don’t Feed the Landfills” and Leave No Trace help preserve natural spaces for future generations.
Our Local Impact
At Lee’s Summit Subaru, we’re proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to make our community a greener, healthier home. Through this initiative, we provided mature, regionally appropriate trees to members of our community, giving everyone the opportunity to enhance their surroundings and support local environmental sustainability. As part of this effort, we held a tree donation event where we were able to give 100 trees to our customers and local community completely free of charge.
Subaru Loves Pets
Subaru Loves Pets is dedicated to improving the lives of shelter animals. Subaru and its local retailer, Lee’s Summit Subaru, partner with area shelters each October to provide financial support and host adoption events. These efforts help pets find loving homes while supporting local animal welfare initiatives nationwide.
Our Local Impact
At Lee’s Summit Subaru, we support Midwest Animal ResQ year-round by accepting donations and hosting annual pet adoption events. Customers can bring donations in exchange for “Subie Swag” and a chance to win a grand prize, while the shelter brings many of the dogs available for adoption. We also participate in “Dogtoberfest,” collecting donations, giving out more “Subie Swag,” and offering additional giveaways—all while helping local pets find loving homes and supporting a cause close to the hearts of area pet lovers.
Subaru Loves Learning
Subaru Loves Learning supports education by providing teachers with funding for the supplies and resources they need to help students succeed. Subaru and its local retailer, Lee’s Summit Subaru, work with area schools and, through AdoptAClassroom.org, help students thrive both locally and nationwide.
Our Local Impact
At Lee’s Summit Subaru, we are proud to support Meadow Lane Elementary as our Subaru Loves Learning partner. Educators spend an average of $750 of their own funds each year on classroom supplies, which is one of the reasons we are so excited to provide school supply kits to students in need. During our most recent event, we also provided lunch for the teachers, showing our appreciation for their hard work and dedication. It is our honor to help local students learn and succeed while giving teachers a chance to save on supplies.
Subaru Loves to Help
Subaru Loves to Help supports families and individuals in urgent need by providing essentials like food, clothing, and shelter. Subaru and its local retailers partner with organizations such as Operation Warm® to provide children at area shelters with new coats, shoes, and socks, helping keep them safe, warm, and cared for.
Our Local Impact
At Lee’s Summit Subaru, we are proud to partner with Hillcrest Transitional Housing, a leader in supporting families experiencing homelessness in the Kansas City area. Through the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we provide brand-new winter coats to the children at Hillcrest, ensuring they feel warm, cared for, and supported during the colder months. By contributing in this way, we hope to bring comfort and a sense of security to these families as they work toward a brighter future.
Subaru Share the Love Event
Subaru Share the Love is Subaru’s way of giving back. During the event, every new vehicle sold or leased results in donations to local organizations and national charities, supporting people, animals, and communities where Subaru owners live.
Our Local Impact
Hillcrest Transitional Housing
Hillcrest Transitional Housing, our hometown charity, provides families experiencing homelessness with transitional housing and programs that promote self-sufficiency. Through the Share the Love Event, Lee’s Summit Subaru donates $75 to Hillcrest for every new Subaru purchased or leased, plus $5 for every routine Subaru service, helping families access the resources they need to thrive.
Meals on Wheels
We also supported Meals on Wheels of Lee’s Summit, MO, by providing tote bags to pack their annual emergency meal kits. These kits ensure clients have meals during severe winter weather when regular deliveries are interrupted. Lee’s Summit Subaru is proud to help local seniors stay safe and nourished during challenging times.
