See What’s New on the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek

2019 Subaru Crosstrek for sale The Subaru Crosstrek is now in its second generation. The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek in now includes EyeSight Driver Assist Technology across all of the trim levels and has tech features that are even more up to date.

The Crosstrek is now Subaru’s third highest selling model and the 2019 Crosstrek is available in Lee’s Summit as a 2.0i base model, 2.0i Premium model, or a 2.0i Limited model. The pricing begins at around $21,000.

Safer Than Ever

The top priority for Subaru has been safety and this is why EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is available on every 2019 trim level. The features that are included with EyeSight are pre-collision braking and throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, and lane keep assist.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has declared the Crosstrek as the Top Safety Pick for seven years in a row, from 2012 to 2018. In addition to this, the 2018 Crosstrek got the highest possible safety rating for front crash prevention when equipped with the Eyesight feature. 

Power and Capability

All Crosstreks come with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Active Torque. They come standard with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine that will give you 152 horsepower and 145 pounds per foot of torque.

The base and Premium trims give you the option of a six-speed manual or Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. If you choose the six-speed manual transmission, you will get 23 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined miles per gallon rating of 25.

If you get the Premium or Limited trim, you can get a CVT that features a seven-speed manual mode that has shifters on the steering wheel and seven preset ratios. The fuel economy for the CVT is 27 miles per gallon in the city, 33 miles per gallon on the highway or 29 miles combined. You will also get X-Mode and Hill Descent Control if you get the CVT, which allow for better control in situations with low friction or situations where you are going off-road.

The 2019 Crosstrek has a ground clearance of 8.7 inches and it is versatile enough to be used in the city and off-road.

Subaru Starlink

Subaru Starlink allows you to use entertainment throughout the car hands-free. All Starlink Multimedia systems have high-resolution touchscreens and you can integrate your phone with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Aha, and Pandora. There is an AM/FM radio, rear vision cameras, single-disc CD player, and SiriusXM. If you happen to get the 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus package, you will get voice-activated controls for the phone and near field communication, as well as navigation that is voice activated and powered by TomTom.

Subaru Starlink in-vehicle technology has the most affordable service packages out there. It includes SOS emergency assistance, roadside assistance, automatic collision alerts, maintenance alerts, vehicle health reports, and diagnostic alerts.

If you get the Starlink Safety Plus & Security package, you will get remote start (with climate control), heated seats, vehicle recovery, security alarm alerts, remote lock and unlock, remote horn and lights, and parenting features.

If you get the Starlink Concierge package, you add in-vehicle assistance with reservations, scheduling appointments, or purchasing tickets.


The 2.0i base model comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and black side cladding. It has a black interior with carbon fiber on the center dash and front and back door panels. The rear roof spoiler is a glossy black.

The standard features include a 6.5-inch Starlink multimedia system that supports Android Audio and Apple CarPlay. The windows have auto up and down on both sides of the vehicle. The rear seat folds with a 60/40 split. The windows, door locks, and side mirrors are all powered. The display shows you fuel economy information and has multiple extra functions. There is a remote keyless entry system, a steering wheel that tilts and telescopes, a security system that immobilizes the engine, and much more.

2019 Crosstrek 2.0i CVT

The 2019 Crosstrek 2.0i CVT model starts at around $22,000 at your local Subaru dealer and offers a package that has EyeSight as well as an instrument cluster that includes an LCD display, an overhead console light, and a tire pressure monitoring system that shows you a display of each individual tire pressure.

2019 Crosstrek Premium

The Premium trim level comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and is priced under $23,000. The premium level gives you an All-Weather package that includes heated front seats and mirrors and a wiper de-icer. The color of the outside mirrors is the same as the exterior of the car, there are dual USB ports, and the headlights will automatically turn off/on. They are linked to the wiper blades for your convenience. There is welcome lighting with this trim level and a six-speaker sound system, a cargo cover that retracts a cargo tray, and leather for the steering wheel and gear-shifting handle. 

The Premium has audio entertainment with the updated Subaru Starlink. It has a 6.5-inch multimedia system with a disc player, SiriusXM Radio, SiriusXM Travel Link, and a three-year complimentary subscription to Safety Plus services and a six-month trial subscription to Safety and Security Plus services.

2019 Crosstrek Limited

The 2019 Crosstrek 2.0i Limited trim includes X-Mode with Hill Descent Control. It has the Subaru Starlink 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus system that comes with voice-activated features. You will get Bluetooth, hands-free text messaging, and near field communication. There will be 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless access with push start, a six-way power seat for the driver, steering responsive headlights and high beam assist.

The Limited trim comes standard with Eyesight, high beam assist, steering responsive headlights, reverse automatic braking, and blind spot detection. There are also LED low and high beams and the price starts at just over $27,000.

The interior of the Crosstrek Limited trim has gray leather with orange stitching on the seats. There are an upgraded multi-function display and individual wheel display TPMS indicators. You can choose to get a power moonroof and another package that offers the moonroof as well as the Subaru Starlink 8.0-inch Multimedia system that includes navigation and is voice activated.
