2018 Subaru Outback for sale at Lee’s Summit Subaru

Popular with customers at Lee’s Summit Subaru is the new Subaru Outback. Get in touch today if you want to take a test drive of this new vehicle, as it has received a number of exciting updates for the 2018 model.

You’ll notice the difference between the 2017 Subaru Outbacks and the 2018 Subaru Outbacks for sale on our lot first on their exteriors. The grill and and front bumper  have been upgraded with a more aggressive, masculine look, and this has been paired with new headlights with LED daytime running lights. As you can see, it looks great. The rear bumper has also been updated to match the new front-end look, so those trailing in your dust will also be able to appreciate that you’ve got the very latest five-passenger wagon from Subaru.

Inside, there are also some big changes. The center console has been completely replaced and sitting front and center is a new infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering wheel has also been redesigned, and on the luxury trims, you’ll find new contrast stitching on the trim, doors, and seats. It looks awesome!

Why Choose the 2018 Subaru Outback Over an SUV?

The Subaru Outback has many advantages over a traditional SUV model. Sure, the SUV market is chock full of  options, but every one of them has their obvious strengths and more obvious weaknesses. The 2018 Subaru Outback is the vehicle that minimizes those weaknesses and offers the best-of-the-best in the places where it matters the most.

You’ll want great fuel economy, and the Outback gives it to you. You need space, and it’s abundant in the Outback’s interior. You want to be able to off-road from time to time, and the Subaru Outback is more adept at this than any of its direct competitors. Finally, you want the in-car tech to be excellent and in the Outback, you’ll find it’s world class.

Most competitors will argue the same for their own vehicles, but the 2018 Subaru Outback has the figures to back it up. The standard engine, a 2.5-liter flat-four, is rated by the EPA to get an impressive 28 miles to the gallon. Considering the size of the Outback, this is more than remarkable. Consider also that the Outback includes an all-wheel-drive system as standard (which usually causes mileage figures to drop as the price increases for better handling), and be even more amazed at the efficiency of this large vehicle.

That all-wheel-drive system is one of the best in the business, and it’s paired with sophisticated hill-hold and hill-descent control systems, so driving situations you may have previously found difficult become a breeze when you’re sitting in the Outback. It’s great to have the extra handling technology working for you behind the scenes, and that’s before we even start talking about the optional automatic braking system, steering-responsive LED headlights, Driver Assist package, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring, and navigation. The Outback does a lot of the work of driving for you so you can almost (almost!) sit back and enjoy the ride.

Go ahead and compare the 73.3 cubic feet of interior space you’ll get from a 2018 Subaru Outback for sale at our Kansas City dealership with any of its competitors. You’re getting more usable space by far.

Comfortable to a Tee

Unlike some competitors, the Outback’s seats are comfortable both in the front and in the rear. The suspension feels lushly soft, and the front seats, in particular, are sumptuous with supple leather and lateral support. The seats are wide and there’s power lumbar adjustment paired with door and center armrests. There’s a wealth of headroom, legroom, elbow room, and knee room. At the end of the day, you probably won’t want to get out of the Subaru Outback to have to go sit on your less comfortable sofa!

Because of its architecture, the Outback drives more like a tall car than an unwieldy SUV, and because it has a higher driver’s seat, it feels very un-wagon-like. Driving over speed bumps hardly registers and small ripples in the road make no dent on your comfort level. When you come and test drive the 2018 Subaru Outback for sale at our Kansas City Subaru dealership, we’ll invite you to take a listen to the engine noise out on the highway – you’ll hardly hear a peep thanks to the sound-deadening materials, quiet engine, and rock-solid frame.

Notice too how the controls are all well laid out and within easy reach. Subaru knows that touch button controls may look good but aren’t great for use while driving. That’s why all of the most important functions are controlled by large, clearly-marked buttons.

Options

The Outback is available in no less than six different trim levels, so you know you’ll be able to find the car for you. The base model is the 2.5i.

The 2.5i Premium adds big features such as an eight-inch touchscreen, rear privacy glass, dual-zone auto climate control, and eight-way power-adjustable driver seat with two-way lumbar adjustment.Bump the comfort up by opting for the 2.5i Limited where you’ll get 18-inch wheels; safety features like rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitoring, and a front bumper under guard; keyless ignition and entry; a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system; and a four-way, power-adjustable passenger seat.

If you choose the bigger 3.6R engine, you can opt for the 3.6R Limited trim. It’s the same as the 2.5i Limited but xenon headlights are included as standard (they’re optional on the 2.5i Limited). Both of the engines can be paired with the Touring trim, so our final two options for your Kansas City Subaru Outback are the 2.5I Touring and the 3.6R Touring. These include everything listed above and all the driver assistance technologies as standard. You’ll also get a different set of 18-inch wheels, premium leather throughout, a wood grain interior, and a heated steering wheel.

Whichever way you look at it, the 2018 Subaru Outback is one of the cars of the year.
